Oriental Flank Steak

This is one of my favorite recipes (I know I say that a lot, but who's to limit favorites). Being fried it sits a bit heavy in your stomach but just typing this up makes my mouth water! If your flank steak is not thin, ask the grocery store butcher to cut it into long skinny strips, then take it home and beat it with a metal mallet (a great way to work out any frustrations from the day!).

PS I don't have a picture for this one so the main contributor will have to do!

Ingredients
  • 2 Flank Steaks
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup + 2 Tbs Soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or powder)
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 4 egg well beaten
  • 1 cup flour (or more), for coating

Method
Tenderize flank steak with a mallet to ¼'' thick, cut into bite size pieces. Marinate steak in soy sauce mixtures at least 1/2 hour. Coat meat with flour then dip into egg and chopped green onion mixture. Fry in hot oil. Serve over rice with soy sauce.
Have a bit of soy sauce on hand to sprinkle over the top if desired.
